Nique Yager is a writer and
illustrator who makes her living doing
random things that have no bearing on civilization as a whole. But
her true calling is mockery; to make fun of others and have them feel
bad about themselves. In this, she truly excels. However, while she
can dish it, she cannot take it as her sensitive artist's "soul"* is
brittle and weak like an eggshell and if broken reveals the
unfertilized embryo of a baby chick in the form of so much white and
yellow goo.
Paradise Syndrome is a comic Nique started with a lazy, shiftless
friend who turned out to redefine lazy and shiftless. He dropped the
ball and she picked it up, only to lobby it out to Strawpixel, where
it now resides, cozy and secure in the hearth of Montreal based online
art and literature. While not autobiographical in nature, Paradise
Syndrome does echo a fundamental truth about the meaninglessness of
Nique's existence. (As well as your own). Enjoy.
*Nique does not believe in the existence of souls and is therefore way
ahead of her time and more avant-garde (pretentious) than you'll ever
be.
Still editing Babylon Road and making some nice progress. Hopefully, I should have the second draft up on the site within the next few weeks. The hardest part so far is trying to insert new chunks without breaking the structure that’s been established. I just hope I won’t have to refit the whole thing, but we shall see…
As you can see in the Text Dump section, I’ve starting doing some microfiction. The idea is to write really short story, below 1000 words and make them work. It’s a nice challenge and it doesn’t take too much time to do so I’ll be doing that for a little while, at least until the new project starts.
